Movie Review:It Is A Good Day To Die Hard (2013)

Yesterday, I decided to start off this year of theatrical viewing with the
newest installment of the Die Hard franchise. Despite having a very striking
head-cold, I was still determined to watch this. So,I went inside the theater
and viewed the film regardless of my sickness.

I actually liked this movie despite of its numerous flaws. I guess I'm sucker
for dumb action movies. The thing is,that the original Die Hard trilogy was
never anything like those mindless action flicks that saturated the 80's. The
originals were grounded in reality and actually had a hero that is just an
average guy that was just at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

This movie has none of that. It was just shooting,explosions,and (lack of)
exposition. Granted,I still enjoy the ride, but I still expected more of
a plot. With Die Hard I expect some form of a compelling story with actual
characters worth a damn.

To sum this all up, I still enjoy this, but I consider it as a Die Hard movie.
Just like I don't consider Godzilla (1998) aa a Godzilla movie despite enjoying
a few scenes here or there.
